About me…
Rev. Elizabeth Mallozzi, Spiritual Director
Retired Methodist chaplain, pastor
I’m a missionary kid, raised in Japan with a worldview that loves my church with Jesus Christ my Lord. I am also one who questions everything. This is how I landed into the work of church as a pastor and chaplain for almost 25 years. For fifteen years of those years, through some challenging situations, I’ve had a Spiritual director as a guide from West Virginia Institute of Spirituality. She comes from the Catholic tradition, which I’ve grown to respect because of her. My family is mostly out of the church now, and I’ve come to respect that there are other paths to God. Maybe more than ever, I hear the earnest seeker questioning the roots from which they have grown. In the tradition of the mystics, I believe a deeper relationship with the divine is found in those questions. As a grateful retiree, I am able to help others, as I have been helped. Through the training at Haden Institute, I am certified as a Spiritual Director. I hope that folks that are coloring outside the lines of tradition will find acceptance and faith rooted in God’s grace and love. I also hope that folks that are feeling homesick for tradition, will be well fed in the spiritual traditions of faith.
